These oatmeal cookies are chewy and crunchy at the same time. I think it’s fair to say that these are one of my husband's favorite sweets. The original recipe doesn’t include dried fruit of any kind, and that’s generally the way our daughters prefer them, but I like to add mixed dried raisins and berries. One more thing: you can feel virtuous eating them, because, sugar and butter aside, at least you can say that you’ve had your serving of oatmeal for the day.
